Introduction

The LayGO Hardware Interface has been ported to run under the Real-Time Extension to Windows (RTX™). This document explains how to use LayGO for RTX in applications running in the RTX subsystem.

The RTX real-time extensions to Windows NT/2000/XP are a product of IntervalZero. To quote from the RTX Frequently Asked Questions:

RTX is a hard real-time extension for Windows NT/2000/XP that provides high-speed and deterministic (i.e. hard) real-time capabilities for Windows. It addresses the need for deterministic response for device I/O processes.

LayGO for RTX supports development of real-time applications using LayGO in the RTX subsystem by providing shared libraries which contain a real-time version of the LayGO device driver.
