X.25 Tunnel for TCP/IPIn contrast to the MAC bridge, the TCP/IP payload can be removed from the Ethernet packet and transmitted through LayGO®-supported WAN protocols, such as X.25, LAPB, LAPD (RFC 1356), or Frame Relay (RFC 2427). A PXS connected via the synchronous port to an X.25 or Frame Relay PSDN can establish a virtual circuit to another PXS at a remote location. The virtual circuit can function as a tunnel for the TCP/IP traffic originating from the Ethernet port. The PXS tunnel software will take the TCP/IP payload from the Ethernet packet and send it unchanged. For point-to-point connections, TCP/IP tunneling through a LAPB or raw mode HDLC connection is also possible.
